Located 20 mi (32 km) southeast of Midland,
Odessa is a ranching and oil and gas town. The twin towns of Midland and Odessa
maintain similar cultures and handmade art traditions and share many special events
and festivals, such as the Cinco
de Mayo Celebration, the Permian
Basin Fair and Exposition and the Merry
Market Place. The west Texas
ranching heritage of Odessa can best be explored through the Ellen
Noel Art Museum, the Parker
House Museum and the Presidential

attracted to Odessa's numerous natural parks and gardens, such as Salinas
